Hasaacas Ladies 4-0 thumping of Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the Women’s Premier League last weekend means there could be another chance to set a new national record when the Ladies touch feet on the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
With 5 trophies already registered, which fuels the success story of the Giants as the most successful Women’s Premier League side in the country, more records could be achieved with a win on Saturday in the Women’s FA Cup final.
The team could be achieving an unprecedented double on Saturday if we manage another win in the final of the Women’s FA Cup against Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
Hasaacas Ladies and Ampem Darkoa Ladies are without the FA Cup trophy and for the first time there could be either of the two holding the title.
The Women’s FA Cup remains the only trophy eluding the Giants since its inception in 2016. This will mark the third final of the Women’s FA Cup competition previously won by Police Ladies FC and Prisons Ladies FC.
Police Ladies won the maiden edition of the FA Cup title following a 2–1 win against Fabulous Ladies before losing the last edition 1–0 to Prisons Ladies FC courtesy a Sylvia Amankwah’s early goal.
A win means Hasaacas Ladies becomes the first club to win a double.
The team has had a successful run of form in the competition beating Ladystriker’s on spot-kicks before eliminating former champions, Police Ladies in the round of 16.
It was a 2-0 in the quarter finals game against Northern Ladies FC at the Sekondi Gyandu Park before coming from behind courtesy a Milot Pokuaa and Doris Boaduwaa second half goals to beat Supreme Ladies to set up a final with Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
Doris Boaduwaa and Veronica Appiah are on two goals each, Milot Pokuaa, Evelyn Badu, Azuma Bugre and Faustina Nyame Aidoo are other scorers in the competition.
All the best of luck!!
