John Koomson, David Nyankum, John Arthur Kassilas and George Ekow Annan will be battling it out for the first of its kind Supporters Player of the Month award.

It’s been a mixed bag of results over the month of April, but there are plenty of things we love here at Sekondi Hasaacas Football Club and here we are with the Supporters Player of the Month Award as four players pound the surface for the maiden edition.

Hasmal were engaged in six games in the month of April; two defeats to Samartex and Unistar Academy, we shared the spoils against Nzema Kotoko and Venomous Vipers and two victories, it was a 2:0 victory against Achicken FC on April 1, and the team rounded the Month up with a 2:0 victory against Star Madrid.

After picking up 8 points from a possible 18 points Hasmal jumped onto some personal successes as fans will seize the opportunity to cast their lots on who snatches home the coveted Supporters Player of the Month for April.

Goalkeeper John Arthur Kassilas kept two clean sheets in three games in the month of April. The shot-stopper held his lines in games against Nzema Kotoko and Star Madrd in spite of the two clubs shooting a combined 15 times at him. His shortfall came against Samartex 1996 FC, conceding two goals which could have been more on the day.

After emerging as the Man of the Match on three different occasions, John Koomson found himself in the chase for the Player of the Month Award without a hustle. The central midfielder put up an outstanding performance by bossing the midfield in games against Venomous Vipers, Nzema Kotoko and Star Madrid. Cut in the diminutive and workaholic shape of Ngolo kante, Koomson left a trace of his footprint on every corner of the pitch, chasing all the loose balls and sliding through the gears to create goal scoring opportunities too.

George Ekow Annan produced two good goals in games against Venomous Vipers and Star Madrid and was fouled inside the box which was ably slotted in by Isaac Mensah in the 2:0 win against Coach Michael Osei’s lads. The supporting striker went pass defenders down the flanks effortlessly, his strides left opponents with symptoms of being as white as a sheet and his defensive ability was not up for questioning, putting up a stalwart individual performance in the Month of April.

David Nyankum’s fighting spirit can never go unnoticed after impressively ending the month so well, featuring in all six games played this month.
