Seidu Abdulai saved the day at the Okese Park as Hasmal secured a vital 1–1 draw against Wassaman United.
It was an all-round impressive display from the Giants who from the referee’s whistle to commence the game put everything on the line to secure something from the game.
It was a goal to each side after the first half had ended goalless following strong willingness showed by the squad; first, Mustapha Rabiu Dambaba intervened to save a situation which saw unable to continue the game and was replaced by Samuel Addae, his debut for Hasaacas FC.
How We Lined Up
Mustapha Rabiu started in goal, Daniel Addo and Paul Aidoo manned the central defensive positions and was flanked by Papa Nketsia and Thomas Aboagye on the left and right positions respectively.
There were five in midfield; Obed Sam, Edwin Mbeah Baiden, John Komson, Kwame Arhinful Arthur and Anthony Quainoo.
Patrick Odoom led the attack.
Samuel Addae replaced Mustapha Rabiu Dambaba.
Edwin Mbeah was replaced by Issaka Abubakari.
John Komson, Patrick Odoom and Anthony Quainoo made way for Obed Asamoah, Seidu Abdulai and Alex Kofi Murphy.
What Happened
It was a show of intent from the onset as Wassaman clearly gave it all in attack, but our lines were resolute with all attacking threat fruitlessly equalled by Giants.
The team firmed up and even when Mustapha Rabiu left the field Samuel Addae slotted in and equalled matters.
The first half ended goalless.
After recess it was the home team that went ahead early, a strike from the outside of the post which beat Samuel Addae to the far post – but Hasmal was always there.
And when Coach Joseph Agyemang threw in more attacking options, Hasaacas controlled and created several scoring chances.
Kwame Arhinful Arthur played Abubakari Issaka through inside the box and the attacker teed a pass for Patrick Odoom whose effort came off the goal post.
Kwame Arhinful Arthur again controlled well with his chest inside the penalty area and set Seidu Abdulai through and this time, he powered in a grounded effort to level matters.
It ended 1-1.
What it means.
The Giants are currently with 28 points, at the unmoved at the 12th position throwing on the line everything to ensure the team beats the drop.
