What happened
A day that rekindled history; top of Ghana football epistles.
We met our long-time rival Eleven Wise in a friendly game which excites everyone and make for a better MTN 25th Anniversary.
The telecommunication network[MTN Ghana] seized the most glamorous and football loving community to showcase and sell what has been an eventful 25 years of their existence in Ghana.
The atmosphere was serene and chilled with fans crawling up for a seat to witness a rivalry that dates back to the last 90 years.
It was Eleven Wise that stood up early and snatched the game opener through a corner kick which was well planted.
Try as we did as Giants of the West it took a second half effort to neutralized the blazing webs.
Ibrahim Sanah showed up well and turned in a thunderbolt that sent pandemonium out in numbers.
Several effort up on goal proved futile.
With 4 minutes up showing as injury time Philip Flamini struck gold teeing one to Ibrahim Sanah inside the box for the last kick of the game. His effort on goal whispered wide off target.
And that appears to be that then the teams headed for spot kicks.
With Alex Kofi Murphy, Nathaniel Eshun and Thomas Aboagye getting their strikes on target it wasn’t enough as Eleven Wise cringed to a hundred percent delivery to win the day.
