Hasaacas FC’s recent fine form met a severe blow against a well-rehearsed Hearts of Oak team with impressive attacking game. A miserable afternoon at the Gyandu Park, Sekondi saw Hasmal well beaten after conceding 2 goals at either half of the game.

The 4-0 annihilation at the Gyandu Park, Sekondi explored a deep hole in our team – a depleted defensive display well capitalized by the side led by Coach Kim Grant.

It was always going to be difficult with the loads of injuries recorded prior to the game. Ekow Eshun, Daniel Agyin, Ibrahim Jalil and Fuseini Adams sitting out of the game due to injuries.

Hearts of Oak entered the game all guns blazing – en route to the encounter, the Phobians had recorded an impressive 21 goals – conceded 7 – kept 4 clean sheets and others.

They had lost just a game in 10 outings and had managed 9 wins.

What really happened?

As early as the 5th minute; the visitors had struck the crossbar and forced Anthony Brebo to a superb save – our defense seemed hapless and panting. The gaspy nature of our defense enabled the Phobians to surge forward the more mostly via the promptings of our own defensive frailties.

Hearts of Oak created an alley not a gitty at the heart of our defense and before long, William Enchil could only bring Joseph Esso down in the box and the attacker effortlessly sent Anthony Brebo the wrong way from the resulted penalty kick.

Joseph Dinku who was charged with all the mopping ups in the middle of the Park was substituted very early, due to injury – our middle went blunt defensively and Hearts of Oak kept widening the alley.

Hasaacas forced two chances though – 2 infringements on the right side of the Phobians defense – Isaac Mensah shoot straight into the waiting arms of Ernest Sowah – Seidu Kumordzie couldn’t direct his shot pass the tall human wall.

Hearts continued to thrust in between the legs of our central defensive pair and with 10 more minutes to recess Kojo Obeng Junior, exceptionally rose highest to head home the game’s second for Hearts of Oak.

Umar Manaff added two goals in the second half to conclude the exposition exercise. Hearts of Oak running away with a 4-0 win.

We have to turn up strong and activate our bouncebackability ahead of the Normalization Committee’s tournament beckons.
