It was an exciting start to the 2020/2021 Women’s Premier League for Hasmal Ladies securing a n important 2-1 win against Ladystrikers at the Robert Mensah Stadium.
What happened…
Veronica Appiah made an all important back-to-Hasaacas team with a brace getting the promptings from Milot Pokuaa’s cross in the 34th minute.
Hasmal continued to dominate possession with several chances falling on the path of Milot Pokuaa who wrecked the goal post thrice in the 90 minutes.
The home team grabbed an equalizer through Suzzy Dede Teye who converted from a free-kick in the 71st minute.
Coach Yussif Basigi threw more ladies upfront with the introduction of Doris Boaduwaa who replaced comfort Owusu in search of the lead.
Veronica Appiah restored Hasmal’s lead in the 79th-minute beating an offside trap to slot home the winner.
It was a chances spree for Hasaacas Ladies with the upright denying Milot Pokuaa from increasing her side’s tally. 1:2 the game ended.
What it means…
Hasaacas Ladies begins on a winning note and created fine opportunities and grabbed chances which could have gotten the team to run riot over LadyStrikers had not been the upright which acted as the goalkeeper for the host on numerous occasions.
