Sekondi Hasaacas FC will be revisiting their long existing rivalry when they host Accra Great Olympics at the Sekondi Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 10.

It’s already 1,530 days(August 2, 2015) since the two sides last met in a Ghana Premier League week 25 encounter which ended 1-1.

On the day, Hasmal started the game as the stronger side with some early incursions from Augustine Arhinful; a pile driver from a 30 yard out and a close range effort which whacked the goal post.

The demands from the Hasmal player forced former Black Stars Goalkeeper and now trainer, Richard Olele Kingson to signal his bench to be substituted with just 20 minutes played. Olele was replaced by another veteran goalkeeper Osei Boateng.

Despite Hasmal’s dominance, it was the visitors, Accra Great Olympics that broke the deadlock of the game through Kwame Boateng(went on to play for Asante Kotoko, Inter Allies and last with Medeama SC) on the 23rd minute mark.

Our hopes of getting back to level met another blow when midfielder Theophilus Nyame(Will go on to play for Asante Kotoko, Ashantigold SC and Medeama) was sent off at the 64th minute.

Skipper Daniel Agyin(will go onto play for Aduana Stars and Medeama) salvaged the situation by standing in between Olympics and their cushioning on several occasions before an out of nowhere leveler from Richmond Kojo Poku.

Richmond Kojo Poku had to stretch full length acrobatically to connect to Emmanuel Ankobiah’s cross to win Hasmal a vital point from the game.

Hasmal will go on to finish 9th after all 30 matches played, 6 places above Great Olympics who headed to relegation after finishing 15 alongisde Hearts of Lions and Brong Ahafo Stars.
