Former Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies center back Janet Egyir is in the race for 2019 Ghana Football Awards’ Women’s Footballer of the Year.
Egyir will be in competition with Northern Ladies Abdulai Mukurama and Ampem Darkoa Ladies Grace Asantewaa.
The former Hasmal Ladies number 4 had a stellar campaign in the duration earmarked for the awards scheme.
The 27-year-old added a 4th National trophy with Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies to better stretch the margin as the best team in the country. Hasmal Ladies came from 2 goals down to beat Ampem Darkoa Ladies 3-2 in the final of the NC Special Competition.
Before, Janet Egyir had given a great account of herself in the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations despite Ghana being crashed out in the group phase.
She was twice voted the player of the match as Ghana clinched bronze in the West Africa Football Union Cup in Abidjan in games against Senegal and Mali.
Janet Egyir is currently with her former Hasmal Ladies and Black Queens team mates Samira Suleman and Linda Eshun at Afturelding in Iceland.
