Ibrahim Sanah Mohammed was on target for the second week running but that not enough as Hasmal pay for two first half goals in a 2-1 defeat to host Bekwai Youth Football Academy.
With several players sustaining various degrees of injuries there were several changes to the lineup that played out a 1-1 draw with Bibiani Gold Stars the last time out.
Anthony Brebo was the shot-stopper on the day flanked by Thomas Aboagye and Isaac Asare on the right and left respectively – the central defensive pair was Jay Kola Asamoah and Bernard Ebo Eshun.
Abeiku Ainooson for the first time this season missed out from the lineup.
Ibrahim Sanah played the defensive midfield position and had Kwame Arhinful Arthur, Anthony Quainoo and Benjamin Acqua Mills as the offensive midfielders.
Nicholas Zakli and Kwabena Baidoo led the attack.
The weather was favorable but early sprinkles meant the pitch was a bit soggy and got the players stumbling in the early minutes.
Hasmal was the better side in the early exchanges, Benjamin Acqua Mills was brought down on the 9th minute but the Referee who had a clear view signaled play should continue.
Despite starting as the better side, it was the host that shot ahead after Anthony Brebo failed to grab a loose ball which was turned in by the host.
Again, it was another chance for the home side as three defenders stumbled due to the nature of the pitch as the attacker had the yawning net at his mercy.
The half ended with Hasmal 2-0 down despite seeing most of the ball and playing the best of games on the day.
The team returned from recess all poised and evident as the ball was mostly played in the opponent’s half.
Benjamin Acqua Mills was again brought down in the box and Ibrahim Sanah stood up and sent the goalkeeper to the ghost land.
With the lead slashed into half, Hasmal pounded the surface for the equaliser but Sanah saw his free kick grabbed for the second try and Obed Asamoah Ackah’s effort deflected off goal.
It ended 2-1 for the host and Hasmal will have to turn attention to next weekend’s match day 27 game against Proud United FC.
