Hasmal’s run of 21 games unbeaten was ended in our last home game of the season against Skyy FC after a nervy start which had huge contribution on the game’s outcome.
There were strings of mistakes at the heart of the defense at the early stages of the game that put Skyy FC in the driving seat.
Ebenezer Mamatha scored two goals and Baba Musah Hamadu added another to put Skyy FC in the driving seat before the first half whistle.
There were strings of nervy defensive blunders which were uncharacteristic of an Hasmal side throughout this season.
Hasmal begun to boss play afterwards and deservedly got a spot-kick when Ibrahim Sanah was brought down in the penalty box. Sanah’s resulting kick went off target; another sign of a bad day at the office.
The team regrouped in the second half and pursued the cause to snatch something out of the game. Try as we did, it was until the 76th minute before Obed Asamoah Ackah connected to Philip Flamini’s corner to give the team the needed consolation.
The defeat is Hasmal’s first in 21 games at home in the Division One League dating back to the invalidated season.
The Giants will finish the season with a trip Ejisu Okese Park to play Asokwa Deportivo.
