We had to settle for a point at home to Unistar Academy in game week two of the GFA-NC Special tournament.
It was a show of charisma from the skipper who stood up during the dying embers of the game to slot in a spot kick to put Hasaacas 1-1 draw against Unistar Academy.
Coach JAJ made just one change to the side that played out a 1-1 draw away to Swedru All Blacks on match day one. Patrick Eshun replaced Yahaya Seidu Pelpuo.
The Visitors were clearly on a mission to put a spanner in our works. The Academy boys had a magnificent start and after center back William Enchill was forced out of the game due to a collision with one of the opponent, it was an opportune time for Unistar Academy to go in for the opener and deservedly snatched that.
We were clearly the second best to every split decision and we had to fight back, turning play from 4-1-3-2 to 3-1-4-2 just to contain the opponent’s attack.
After recess we came in stronger and better this time. The introduction of Emmanuel Ebahoah turned the game on its head and it was our time to slide through for what we needed.
Ibrahim Sanah saw his strike well gathered by the goalkeeper, John Koomson forced a magnificent save from the goalkeeper who just did well to have a finger to the ball.
Joseph Dinku placed a defense splitting pass to locate George Ekow Annan and the attacker sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, but his shot whiskers off goal.
Philip Flamini conjured a masterpiece and his shot was deflected off a defender, the rebound from Ibrahim Sanah which was heading into goal hit a hand in the penalty area.
Thomas Aboagye stood up to the challenge and his penalty kick was simply stunning, bringing the game to parity.
From there, we forced through for the winner, but efforts came to nothing as we ended the game 1-1.
Let’s go again on Sunday, at Daboase Saint Martin’s Park against Skyy FC.
Hasmal We Go Do!
Play the Game, but Lovely.
