Abeiku Ainooson was at the end of another important goal as Hasmal put one goal pass relegation-bound Proud United to keep home unbeaten run intact.
It was Nicholas Zakli who should have handed the Giants the opener but Ibrahim Sanah’s effort deflected the attacker to go out of play.
The attacker again found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper but he tried the lob which flew off target.
What happened
It was Proud United’s finest moment when a ball struck the hand of Isaac Asare inside the penalty box – the resulting penalty missed the goal area by miles keeping Hasmal in the game.
Hasmal came into the game stronger afterwards, and with some few moment to the end of the first half, Abeiku Ainooson connected to a loose ball inside the penalty area to register the game’s first and only goal of the game.
It was Abeiku’s 6th goal of the season showing his mammoth contribution to our cause this season. And the most goals by a center back in the Division One League season.
He’s been immensely incredible at the back registering another clean sheet.
The second half saw Hasmal creating several fine opportunities yet failed to add to the tally.
The game ended 1-0 to our advantage and it’s a win that means our we hold on to our fine home form.
